The house is not formally protected, but it appears in a regional survey of modern architecture. That carries no legal restriction. Alterations would be subject to normal local planning like any other property on the street.
The owners commissioned a structural report in 2019 before purchase and a follow-up in 2023. Both are available to serious buyers on request, though you should still commission your own.
The plot has room on the north side and the previous owners obtained consent for a garden room in 2018, which lapsed. Rahman designed the house around the courtyard, and most people who have viewed it have concluded that adding to it would spoil the thing they came for.
