About Atelier
Four people, one office, trading since 1998. We sell houses that somebody designed on purpose.
Atelier was started in 1998 by its founder, who had spent eleven years at a general agency and was tired of selling architecture to people who described it as a project. The first instruction was a 1963 house in West Quarter that had been on with two other agents for a year. It sold in five weeks to somebody who had come to look at something else.
The business has stayed roughly the same size since. Four people, one office, and around forty instructions a year, which is about the number four people can show properly. We have turned down more than we have accepted every year since 2011.
What we are good at is the specific problem of selling an unusual house, where the buyer pool is small, the comparables are unhelpful, and the wrong photography can lose you six months. What we are not is a volume agency, and if you have a standard three bedroom apartment to sell you will probably do better elsewhere and we will say so.

Founder
Started the firm in 1998. Handles valuations and anything above $5m. Trained as an architect and did not finish, which she says was the correct decision for everybody.

Joined 2009. Runs the coastal side of the business and most second viewings. Knows more about salt corrosion in aluminium glazing than anyone would choose to.

Joined 2019 from a Lahore agency. Handles the registered buyer list, which means she is the person who rings you before anything is advertised.

Joined 2021. Chases lawyers, banks and surveyors from offer to completion so that sellers do not have to. Sends a written update every Friday without being asked.
